FUNCTIONAL LAB TESTING

Getting Answers to Your Questions

For years patients have depended on me to provide this valuable service.  Standard lab testing works for standard problems.  Advanced functional lab testing is useful when standard lab tests say everything is fine but you still feel awful and without answers.  Special areas of testing are for the MTHFR gene, genetic weight loss, organic acid testing, adrenal stress, and male and female hormone and neurotransmitter problems.  Schedule your complementary appointment here.

TESTIMONIALS

What Patients Are Saying

Shoulder Injury

"For seven years I suffered shoulder pain from a culmination of misuse and old sports injuries. I tried a variety of different physio therapies, chiropractics and massage therapy. Any benefits were always short lived and the pain always came back. On a visit to Israel I had an acute flare up that was also causing terrible headaches. Thankfully, I was referred to Dr. Rosenberg. His treatment went far beyond the usual chiropractic adjustment and involved different diagnostic techniques and interventions. Two years later I remain pain free. I cannot begin to express how wonderful it is to no longer live with chronic pain or the fear of doing things that might aggravate my shoulder. I can do anything and everything. "

Herniated Disc

"When I came to Dr. Rosenberg in the fall I was suffering from an herniated disc and could not stand for very long and could not sit in regular chairs. I had been suffering from back pain for several months before seeing Dr. Rosenberg. I was getting to the place of feeling hopeless as I really did not believe that chiropractic manipulation could work. I wanted to quit after two visits but my husband made me continue until I had completed nine visits. Now I am practically pain free. I no longer have to use reclining chairs and can spend more time on my feet. I am so grateful that I did not have to live with this back pain for the rest of my life. Thank you, Dr. Rosenberg!"

Anxiety

Our teenage son suffered from anxiety his whole life. We took him to a few  therapists.  He needed to take Prozac at two different points in his life, and he said he always felt like he had "a black cloud" hovering over his day. He would call us multiple times from school during the day to tell us that he feels very nervous and anxious, and we just didn't' know what to do for him. We sent to see Dr. Rosenberg when we heard glowing recommendations about him from a relative of ours who had achieved great results using him.

Dr. Rosenberg was patient, kind, and extremely thorough. He recommended some testing for our son, and based on the results, he set our son up with a vitamin regimen.

This was 6 months ago, and our son is a different child. He's calm, happy, well adjusted and "the cloud"' has gone away. All he does is take some very healthy vitamins, not dangerous medication, and BH he's doing so well!

Thank you Dr. Rosenberg! We are just so grateful to you for all you have done for our son.

Keep up the good work!

A very grateful parent."

Shoulder Injury after Scoliosis Surgery

"During August of 2012 I went through a correctional scoliosis surgery. Due to the surgery I was unable to lift my right arm more than 20 degrees, and was directed towards Dr. Rosenberg. The first session was a little bit nerve racking due to the fat that I didn't know what was happening but Dr. Rosenberg assured me that everything would be okay, and so it was.

After completing 10 treatments throughout three months I am now able to lift my arm with full range of motion. Dr. Rosenberg is a magician and has helped me greatly. I consider myself lucky to have had the privilege of him being my doctor."

Pain Relief

I would like to thank you for relieving pain which I carry with me for over a year. I was checked into the hospital and consulted with a spine expert. I had an MRI test on my lower spine and other extreme tests - with no results of finding anything they can treat.

One short visit at your clinic and I already feel that there is "air flow" in the hurting bones, and a clear notion that this is the right way to go.

I have tried chiropractic treatments before and I know that the doctor needs to be good - thank God, I want to say that Dr. Rosenberg is blessed.

O. Youdkevitch

Marathoner with Low Back Pain

“I have suffered from low back pain and very stiff back and neck for the last five months since I ran a half marathon. This has stopped me doing much running. I tried stretching, medication and other treatments but nothing worked. However, after recieving three treatment sessions from you, the stiffness and pain has gone and I managed to run 2KM recently without any residual pain or stiffness - thank you”

Sciatica during Pregnancy

First of all, thank you Dr. Rosenberg for helping me during such an important time. You have surpassed all my expectaions of being able to help manage my usual sciatica issues during pregancy and that is something that my whole family is very grateful for.

I must recommend a great Chiropractor. His name is Dr. Rosenberg and he has kept me from being immobilised during my pregnancy.

Usually by the 6th and a half month I can not walk without crutches and am in tremendous pain with sciatica. This doctor has prevented both the immobility and almost all the pain that goes with it and yesterday I reached my goal of being able to dance at our daughter's Bat mitzvah and just to have been able to walk during the last months of pregnancy this time round has been so amazing for both me and the family, we can hardly believe it!

Conventional doctors that I have seen in the past had told me that it is just something that I will have to 'put up with', but Dr Rosenberg told me that he would be able to help me. I was at a point where I thought no one can help me with such an agonising condition.

I began my treatments with him early on in the pregnancy and I have no doubt in my mind that if it were not for his skills as a chiropractor, positive thinking, alternative therapy and extremely friendly manner, I would not have made it to our recent simcha.

He's great and has made my fifth pregnancy a happy experience......what more
can I ask for!

Thanks again!

Low Back Pain

Being tall and having a high-stress job, I am a prime candidate for back pain. Over the past 20 years I’ve been to many chiropractors and no doubt Dr. Reuven Rosenberg has done the best for me. This has been for several reasons: Dr. Rosenberg knows that a chiropractor should not just try to get bones back into place, but must work with the muscles that are maneuvering them. Thus Dr. Rosenberg works to relax muscles before trying to move bones. I have had chiropractors who simply tried to move bones without working with the muscle/tendon pain and they didn’t help and even sometimes made things worse.

Dr. Rosenberg knows that back ailments are usually not just because someone ‘turned the wrong way’. Rather, these ailments can be built up over time either because of stress, sitting position, lack of sufficient movement, lack of oxygenation to muscles and more. Dr. Rosenberg extensively discussed with me several potential causes for my pain. I made several changes due to Dr. Rosenberg’s advice and have been helped tremendously.

Dr. Rosenberg is also very knowledgeable in other areas of medicine besides chiropractic, thus for example, when I spoke to him about stomach upset he was able to advise me on various vitamins and supplements that have all but cured all stomach upset I had.

Dr. Rosenberg is well-connected with other health professionals. Thus he was able to recommend other practitioners for related ailments.

Side Effects of Anti-Depressant Medication

I wanted to share with others the great cure I had thanks to Dr. Reuven Rosenberg. I was taking a drug for depression that all but made it impossible for me to complete a sexual act. It caused much frustration and friction between me and my wife. I tried a few supplements but they did not help. Dr. Rosenberg went out of the box, did some muscle checks and a few adjustments and pressure points in my pelvis, and made me a man again!
Thank you so much Dr. Rosenberg.

Pediatric Development

My baby has medical issues related to breathing. He also needs physiotherapy. My physiotherapist recommended going to a chiropractor and so I went to Dr. Rosenberg. He helped us so much! He helped him start turning from side to side, to hear better, to eat better, dare I say even to breath better! After I saw him he finally passed a special hearing test that he had failed three times. This was after only one visit!

From Incapacitated to Running a Triathlon

Two years ago I intended to visit the bathroom at midnight. Suddenly, a pain sharper than a knife wound struck my left thigh. The ensuing months after a ruptured L5 disk were living hell. I could not sleep, walk, sit or rest for over one month because I couldn’t find a comfortable position for more than 5 to 10 minutes. None of my extensive military training and discipline prepared me for pain rated at 9 on a scale of 10. I tried everything to relieve the pain: prayer, physical and electric massage 3 times a day, various painkillers and sedatives, a Netflix series to pass the nights, hobbling on crutches, wheel chair, physiotherapy in water, endless stretching and exercises, magnesium shakes, vitamins, some bizarre white machine whose name I don’t remember, real Chinese acupuncture, hot and cold pads, you name it. My family suffered more than I did, especially when I would scream in the middle of the night from the pain of trying to lay down for 15 minutes. I lost 10 kilos, the feeling in my left shin area, and required 10 minutes to go up or down one flight of stairs. I began to sink into a deep depression.

After two weeks of unbearable pain and heavy sedative medication, I visited Dr. Rosenberg. On that first session I was in so much pain that I couldn't even lie on the table. Dr. Rosenberg treated me standing up while I was leaning over the table and the pain lessened just a bit. I was then able to lie on the table and began weekly treatments. Even though I was still in unbearable pain it was a relief to finally receive effective care.

The bottom line is that I returned to work on crutches after two months, returned the crutches to Yad Sarah two weeks later, and was soon declared a walking miracle. Unfortunately, I left behind a wake of many others who to this day cannot function normally, because they are afraid of chiropractic treatment. I do continue chiropractic care with Dr. Rosenberg, which I discovered as a boy when my mother was healed of 3 disintegrated vertebrae in her neck.

A year and a half later I began training for Olympic triathlon competition: 1.5 kilometer swim, 40 kilometer cycling, and a 10 kilometer run. Although my leg performance is about 95% compared to before the trauma, I can surely say that Dr. Rosenberg is an angel sent to heal wounded people. If you suffer from any kind of neck or back problems, don’t hesitate. It’s better to invest now in solid chiropractic care and the development of a healthy lifestyle, than to pay later when it’s too late. With our prayers and blessings for health and long life,

Chaim Warshawsky

FAQS

WHAT IS CHIROPRACTIC?

Chiropractic is a medical profession that focuses on treating people of any age who have a disorder of the musculoskeletal and/or nervous system. Using a variety of non-surgical, hands-on approaches, chiropractors perform adjustments (spinal manipulations) to the spine or other parts of the body. The goal is to correct alignment problems, alleviate pain (usually back pain, neck pain, and headaches), and to support the healing process. But your chiropractor will develop a treatment plan tailored to meet your needs.

WHAT CONDITIONS DO CHIROPRACTORS TREAT?

Doctors of Chiropractic (DCs) care for patients of all ages, with a variety of health conditions. DCs are especially well known for their expertise in caring for patients with back pain, neck pain and headaches...particularly with their highly skilled manipulations or chiropractic adjustments. They also care for patients with a wide range of injuries and disorders of the musculoskeletal system, involving the muscles, ligaments and joints. These painful conditions often involve or impact the nervous system, which can cause referred pain and dysfunction distant to the region of injury. The benefits of chiropractic care extend to general health issues, as well, since our body structure affects our overall function. DCs also counsel patients on diet, nutrition, exercise, healthy habits, and occupational and lifestyle modification.

IS CHIROPRACTIC TREATMENT SAFE?

Chiropractic is widely recognized as one of the safest drug-free, non-invasive therapies available for the treatment of neuromusculoskeletal complaints. Although chiropractic has an excellent safety record, no health treatment is completely free of potential adverse effects. The risks associated with chiropractic, however, are very small. Many patients feel immediate relief following chiropractic treatment, but some may experience mild soreness, stiffness or aching, just as they do after some forms of exercise. Current research shows that minor discomfort or soreness following spinal manipulation typically fades within 24 hours.

Neck pain and some types of headaches are treated through precise cervical manipulation. Cervical manipulation, often called a neck adjustment, works to improve joint mobility in the neck, restoring range of motion and reducing muscle spasm, which helps relieve pressure and tension. Neck manipulation, when performed by a skilled and well-educated professional such as a doctor of chiropractic, is a remarkably safe procedure.

Some reports have associated high-velocity upper neck manipulation with a certain rare kind of stroke, or vertebral artery dissection. However, evidence suggests that this type of arterial injury often takes place spontaneously in patients who have pre-existing arterial disease. These dissections have been associated with everyday activities such as turning the head while driving, swimming, or having a shampoo in a hair salon. Patients with this condition may experience neck pain and headache that leads them to seek professional care—often at the office of a doctor of chiropractic or family physician—but that care is not the cause of the injury. The best evidence indicates that the incidence of artery injuries associated with high-velocity upper neck manipulation is extremely rare—about one to three cases in 100,000 patients who get treated with a course of care. This is similar to the incidence of this type of stroke among the general population.

If you are visiting your doctor of chiropractic with upper-neck pain or headache, be very specific about your symptoms. This will help your doctor of chiropractic offer the safest and most effective treatment, even if it involves referral to another health care provider.

When discussing the risks of any health care procedure, it is important to look at that risk in comparison to other treatments available for the same condition. In this regard, the risks of serious complications from spinal manipulation for conditions such as neck pain and headache compare very favorably with even the most conservative care options. For example, the risks associated with some of the most common treatments for musculoskeletal pain—over-the-counter or prescription nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDS) and prescription painkillers—are significantly greater than those of chiropractic manipulation.
According to the American Journal of Gastroenterology, people taking NSAIDS are three times more likely than those who do not to develop serious adverse gastrointestinal problems such as hemorrhage (bleeding) and perforation. That risk rises to more than five times among people age 60 and older.

Moreover, the number of prescriptions for powerful drugs such as oxycodone and hydrocodone have tripled in the past 12 years. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has reported that abuse of these commonly prescribed painkillers are among the leading causes of accidental death in the United States. Overdoses of opioid painkillers are responsible for some 15,000 deaths per year; that’s more than the number of deaths from cocaine and heroin combined.

Doctors of chiropractic are well trained professionals who provide patients with safe, effective care for a variety of common conditions. Their extensive education has prepared them to identify patients who have special risk factors and to get those patients the most appropriate care, even if that requires referral to a medical specialist.

DOES CHIROPRACTIC TREATMENT REQUIRE A REFERRAL FROM AN MD?

Check your health plan. Many times you will not need a referral from a medical doctor.

IS CHIROPRACTIC TREATMENT APPROPRIATE FOR CHILDREN?

Yes, children can benefit from chiropractic care. Children are very physically active and experience many types of falls and blows from activities of daily living as well as from participating in sports. Injuries such as these may cause many symptoms including back and neck pain, stiffness, soreness or discomfort. Chiropractic care is always adapted to the individual patient. It is a highly skilled treatment, and in the case of children, very gentle.

WHAT TYPE OF EDUCATION AND TRAINING DO CHIROPRACTORS HAVE?

Doctors of chiropracticare educated as primary-contact health care providers, with an emphasis on diagnosis and treatment of conditions related to the musculoskeletal system (the muscles, ligaments and joints of the spine and extremities) and the nerves that supply them. Educational requirements for doctors of chiropractic are among the most stringent of any of the health care professions. The typical applicant for chiropractic college has already acquired nearly four years of pre-medical undergraduate college education, including courses in biology, inorganic and organic chemistry, physics, psychology and related lab work. Once accepted into an accredited chiropractic college, the requirements become even more demanding — four to five academic years of professional study are the standard. Doctors of chiropractic are educated in orthopedics, neurology, physiology, human anatomy, clinical diagnosis including laboratory procedures, diagnostic imaging, exercise, nutrition rehabilitation and more. Because chiropractic care includes highly skilled manipulation/adjusting techniques, a significant portion of time is spent in clinical technique training to master these important manipulative procedures. In total, the chiropractic college curriculum includes a minimum of 4,200 hours of classroom, laboratory and clinical experience. The course of study is approved by an accrediting agency that is fully recognized by the U.S. Department of Education.

HOW IS A CHIROPRACTIC ADJUSTMENT PERFORMED?

Chiropractic adjustment or manipulation is a manual procedure that utilizes the highly refined skills developed during the doctor of chiropractic’s intensive years of chiropractic education. The chiropractic physician typically uses his or her hands--or an instrument--to manipulate the joints of the body, particularly the spine, in order to restore or enhance joint function. This often helps resolve joint inflammation and reduces the patient's pain. Chiropractic manipulation is a highly controlled procedure that rarely causes discomfort. The chiropractor adapts the procedure to meet the specific needs of each patient. Patients often note positive changes in their symptoms immediately following treatment.

IS CHIROPRACTIC TREATMENT ONGOING?

The hands-on nature of the chiropractic treatment is essentially what requires patients to visit the chiropractor a number of times. To be treated by a chiropractor, a patient needs to be in his or her office. In contrast, a course of treatment from medical doctors often involves a pre-established plan that is conducted at home (i.e. taking a course of antibiotics once a day for a couple of weeks). A chiropractor may provide acute, chronic, and/or preventive care thus making a certain number of visits sometimes necessary. Your doctor of chiropractic should tell you the extent of treatment recommended and how long you can expect it to last.

WHY IS THERE A POPPING SOUND WHEN A JOINT IS ADJUSTED?

Adjustment (or manipulation) of a joint may result in the release of a gas bubble between the joints, which makes a popping sound. The same thing occurs when you “crack” your knuckles. The noise is caused by the change of pressure within the joint, which results in gas bubbles being released. There is usually minimal, if any, discomfort involved.
